In 2006 I collaborated with the brilliant artist and photographer Alice Wingwall during our residency at the Exploratorium. We created “Overdog Mango,” prompted by the Canis Major constellation and in honor of Alice's guide dogs.

We projected Alice's photographs through a "celestial disc" that rotated once every 15 minutes causing constellations of braille words to rise and set throughout the installation.

The disc was backed by an enormous concave mirror that shifted the light and changed its direction contributing to the complexity of the piece.

The video below gives a sense of the ever changing nature of the exhibition. It is long so feel free to pick your way through it. The second half consists of the imagery that was projected onto the rotating celestial disc. The soundtrack begins with some of the star themes that were repeating in the installation.
